welcome to my new site

So here it is, my new and improved triathlon training blog. It’s my intention to update this a lot more frequently than my old one. So please check back often and harass me if I don’t keep my word.

Team in Training! The major reason for a new site is due to my recent involvement with Team In Training, or TNT for short. For those of you who’ve don’t know what TNT is, it’s an initiative by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that brings people together, regardless of fitness level, and helps them train for an endurance event, whether it be a marathon, a century bike ride, or in my case, a triathlon. In return for all of their help in training, the participants raise money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I’m not one to miss an opportunity, so if you’re feeling generous, I would greatly appreciate you supporting our cause by making a donation. You can do so here. A million thank you’s in advance.

I’m really enthused about this opportunity to train and I feel that it will be a great stepping stone in helping achieve my ultimate goal of completing an Ironman distance triathlon. Yeah, that’s right, I’m still crazy enough to want to do that. I’m hoping to complete one in the early 2006 time frame.

The event that TNT’s help us train for, it’s the St. Anthony’s Triathlon down in Florida. This is an Olympic distance event, which means a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike and a 10 km run. For those of you who are metricly challenged, that translates to about a mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run. Not exactly a cake walk, but I have time on my side and some great coaches and fellow teammates to keep me motivated.

One final note about Team in Training, I think that it’s an excellent organization. They have events going on all year long in some really cool locations. So I encourage you to look up your local chapter and check it out.

Happy training!

Hey there!

Very cool site! It's fun seeing what kind of training you guys are doing when Corey and Mary aren't around to put you through one of their sufferfests:)

We'll have to get some groups run going in Royal Oak soon.
